/Abby and I are sitting in Boston awaiting our flight to Dubai from where we will fly to Lusaka, Zambia. We’re accompanied by our two friends, Maria Furlough and Amanda Sellers, fellow ministry partners at Lake Forest Church. Maria is Director of Mission and Amanda is a member of the Mission Team there. They’re joining us for the first couple of weeks of our ten week trip to build relationships with Percy Muleba and our students, learn what God is doing in Zambia, and explore possibilities for a future Lake Forest mission trip to Zambia.
Our itinerary is packed and includes two one week “Boot Camps” where we will train former students to use our training manual so that they can multiply our efforts to “train the untrained to reach the unreached.” In addition, we will be video recording our training for the first time, a test run for Percy Muleba’s Virtual Learning Project. Percy’s partner, Nathan Kondowe will travel with us in June to run the video equipment.
May 21st - 23rd: Travel to Zambia
May 24th - June 2nd: Livingstone, Mwandi, and Musokotwane, Zambia - With Maria and Amanda, we’ll be training young evangelists, village elders, and a small group of young married women.
June 3rd - 13th: We’ll be training youth leaders from 15 churches in partnership with New Vine Ministries.
June 14th - 20th: We’ll launch our first “boot camp” for training trainers in Sioma, Zambia.
June 21st - 27th: We’ll begin Phase 1 training of a new student group with our new trainers in Sioma, Zambia.
June 28th - July 4th: We’ll launch our second “boot camp” for training trainers in Katima Mulilo, Namibia.
July 5th - 11th: We’ll begin Phase 1 training of a new student group with our new trainers in Katima Mulilo, Namibia.
July 12th - 18th: We’ll visit two bushmen (The Khwe People) villages in Namibia to continue exploring how we may launch training with them.
July 19th - 30th: We’ll return to Livingston, Zambia to train young evangelists, Christian business leaders, and work on Percy’s Virtual Learning Project.
July 31st - August 1: Travel home
